After returning from a tournament there's always a slight period of adjustment to the reintroduction of aka dora. Let's take a look at this game and see how it went:
Usual suspects. No houous and no one I know.

East 1:
We are iishanten on haipai. I repeat, WE ARE IISHANTEN ON HAIPAI. Can we double riichi?
No we cannot. We can however improve to tanyao and riichi on turn 8. In spite of the chase, no riichis win and toimen deals into a yakunashi tenpai for keiten on the haitei.
East 1-1:
This is the turning point for East 1-1 for me. I have to respect the dealer here and not risk the possibility of dealing into double east shabo, which would be at least 7700. I cut north to keep my chances slightly alive - after all, if east or 7s comes I get tenpai back and pei wait has to be a tanki with one out. Dealer immediately deals into kamicha for 1000.
East 4:
I found myself in possession of this south dora after the white was called. Not wanting to risk giving so many dora even if it doesn't deal in, I pivoted on honitsu and dealt in here. Only 2k points.
South 1:
Entering the third row, I find it prudent to take tenpai. 3900 is plenty. Not long after dealer tsumos a nomi.
South 1-1:
Dealer riichis on turn 3 and my hand is garbage. Folding ensues and a 1300 all tsumo comes.
South 1-2:
Folded from iishanten to not have to fight both the players in 3rd and 4th who both riichi'd. With a 10k+ lead over them I am fine getting out of the way.
South 2:
It's time to make a move. Once again I've taken a 3900 point tenpai and eliminated the chance of a shabo wait. My goal here is to solidify 2nd and end 4th's dealership all at once. The point leader tsumos so I get my wish of 4th's dealer round ending but without strengthening my position.
South 3:
I will not drop extra manzu at what is an obvious honitsu. Toimen, in 4th without a dealership left, will. Deals into mangan and drops to ~3000 points. With all last being my deal and little to no threat of getting 4th, I will be playing for 1st.
South 4:
A WWYD:
I find the prospect of ittsu too hard to give up here, and I choose to get rid of the 2m early and keep the safe south for pushing. I can't say whether this is good or not. I'm going to have trouble getting 1st without a haneman tsumo outright. I can't even tsumo a mangan at this point situation because toimen will bust and I'll still get 2nd, so I'm hunting for yaku. A few turns later I open and greatly reduce the value. Kamicha deals into the 2900.
South 4-1:
After a couple riichis and a kan, I fold as hard as I can and hope to hold second place. My hand wasn't great and after a ryuukyoku where everyone but me was in tenpai, I secure second with 27400. Steady progress!

A failed honitsu attempt shifts to a failed fast and cheap yakuhai attempt. Someone else gets hit and it costs me nothing.
East 3:
Finally a dama that's worth the push! After some fiddling with too many blocks, and resolving to lock in the dora pair, I find myself in pinfu dora 3 tenpai. Textbook dama. Kamicha deals 1s on this turn and I gain 7700.
